Villa Irene is located in Kato Gerakari, in the eastern part of the island, which is only 14 km from Zakynthos International Airport and 12 km from the main port and Zakynthos town. Being quite central, the Villas are well located for exploring both the South and North end of the island. Landmarks such as the Shipwreck (Navagio) and blue caves are easily accessible by boat from the nearest beach, Alykes (3.5 km).

The picturesque community of Kato Gerakari is a Zante destination offering seclusion and quietude. Lots of fun awaits at the popular resort of Alykanas, only 3,5km away and the more peaceful Alykes beach can be reached at 4.3km. The village and beach resort of Alykana is full of bars, cafes and eateries, as well as stores like souvenir shops and supermarkets. A bit further, Venetian-inspired Zante town will give your holidays a whole different meaning, which we recommend you visit at least once during our stay.

Parking
Gerakari is a low-key village in Zante, still holding old traditions and keeping a slow pace. Soothing landscapes of pristine nature encircle Villa Irene and architectural gems of Byzantine churches attract the few village residents and guests. Olive trees and vineyards are aplenty here, giving you just the right amount of inspiration for your next wine or olive oil tasting in Zakynthos.
Kato Gerakari is very close to Alykanas, a traditional seaside village.
Alykanas is located in the north-eastern part of Zante, next to Alykes village.
Alykanas has developed many tourist facilities, including restaurants, taverns and many water sports centres along the sandy beach.
The sandy beach of Alykanas, is 10 minutes by car from the villa, offers a shore long enough for swimming, walking, or sunbathing. Try some water sports or relax under the Greek sun.
The Blue Caves and the Shipwreck are not far away and there are boats that take you to visit this fantastic place.
The closest convenience store is located right in the centre of Gerakari village, where basic amenities can be found. An 10-minute drive to Alykanas resort though gives you just the right variety of shops any holidaymaker needs. From clothes and swimming equipment to souvenirs and local products, you can find everything in the island’s capital.
Of course, Zante town is always a top choice for shoppers and a great variety of stores can also be found there.
A traditional restaurants in the village , offer a peaceful lunch setting within walking distance. Take your car all the way to Alykanas where all kinds of eateries and cuisines will satisfy your palate. A fun alternative, Alykes, will amaze you with beachfront restaurants and bars. Don’t miss the nightlife there
In Alykanas you can have diving lessons or you can join horse riding in the beach.
You can find a water park which is situated in Tsilivi just 15 minuets by car.
Also you can visit Askos Stone Park with many wild animals and plants which is located in Volimes , at a distance of 20 km from Kato Gerakari.
Visit Navagio beach and Blue Caves, kids will remember Navagio beach for many years to come. The amazing beach featuring a shipwreck is a one-of-a-kind experience. Either you choose to admire the view from atop or reach the shore by sea, make sure to take lots of pictures. Perfect for a family outing, the town of Zakynthos is perhaps the best spot to wander around on foot, even with kids of a very young age, and enjoy the large Solomos square.
