Yiota Villa

Villa Yiota is a traditional 3 bedroom Zakynthian stone villa set in a beautiful countryside location and offering glimpses over the Ionian Sea to the Greek mainland. This villa has bright, spacious interiors and its own private pool set amongst beautiful flora. An ideal base from which to explore the picturesque Vasilikos Peninsula with its long sandy beaches and traditional tavernas to the south, and all the amenities of the resort of Argasi to the north. With the islands’ capital, Zante Town, only 5 km away, this villa is an excellent choice for relaxing days and exciting nights. WiFi, pool and air conditioning/heating in the bedrooms are included.

Swimming pool, pool terrace and sunbathing area

The private swimming pool takes pride of place in the centre of the garden surrounded by sun loungers and olive trees, giving a countryside feel – the perfect place to relax. Three steps up from the pool terrace is a shaded alfresco dining area where you can glimpse the distant sea views.

Entrance

The villa is accessed from a country lane and the driveway into the villa is very steep. Parking is at the rear of the villa or at the end of the lane just before the villa. The villa entrance is at the side of the house

Living space

The entrance door opens into an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The living area has a high, vaulted wooden ceiling making the room feel light and airy and a feature fireplace. A spacious terrace stretches around two sides of the living area, accessed by two patio doors.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with fitted wardrobes and decorated in light natural hues. Patio doors open out onto a small balcony with views over the countryside. On the first floor there is another double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, both with their own private balcony and sea views. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 on the ground floor including a washing machine and 1 on the first floor, both have an overhead shower.

Villa Location

Located in the area of Xirocastelo with the resort of Argasi to the north and the beautiful Vasilikos Peninsula to the south, a holiday here ticks all the boxes. Laze the day away by the pool or on one of the plentiful sandy beaches, just a 20 minute drive away. Enjoy a traditional meal or fine dining experience in the busy resort of Argasi, 5 minutes’ drive away. Or why not visit nearby Zante Town, a 15 minute drive away, for a stroll through the square and along the port? A fantastic mix of modern and traditional cuisine will ensure everyone’s tastes are satisfied.

Local markets and shopping

The nearby resort of Argasi offers a selection of shops to browse in – perfect for indulging in a bit of retail therapy. Zante Town, only 3 miles away, has a wide selection of shops to suit all tastes, from jewellery and clothes, to gifts and souvenirs. Further afield, take the 1 hour drive into the mountains and explore the craft village of Volimes. The village stalls sell an eclectic mix of local crafts and souvenirs, wonderful herbs and honey, all produced in Zante. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes’ drive away on the outskirts of Zante Town.

Bars and restaurants

Xirocastelo is a fantastic base from which to explore the full range of dining experiences Zante has to offer. There has been an influx in recent years of fine dining restaurants flourishing in and around the nearby resort of Argasi, many of which offer spectacular sea views. Zante has a great choice of more traditional tavernas, especially as you venture further south along the scenic Vasilikos Peninsula or further north, into Zante Town. Continue your evening in one of the many bars, either in the resort of Argasi or nearby Zante Town, sipping cocktails well into the night!

Beaches

The nearest beach being the Argasi Beach itself, just 5 minutes’ drive away. This narrow strip of sand has calm, clear waters, ideal for families. Xirocastelo is the doorway to the Vasilikos Peninsula – the peninsula is famous for its sandy beaches backed by pine forests. Follow the coastal road through shady pine forests as it weaves its way to the very tip of the south-east peninsula 30 minutes’ drive away. Along the way, pass the more traditional beaches of Kaminia, Porto Zorro, Dafni and Porto Roma before arriving at the final beach, Gerakas. Gerakas and Dafni beaches are nesting sites for the protected Loggerhead Turtles and remain unspoilt and natural. Banana Beach and St Nicholas Beach, both within 20 minutes’ drive, offer a more modern vibe with trendy beach bars and a wealth of watersports.

Family fun

A tourist train links Argasi with Zante Town along the coastal road, showcasing the sites along the way and terminating at Solomos Square, the main square in Zante Town. The ‘Water Village’ water park in Sarakinado is under 30 minutes car or taxi drive away and offers fun for all age groups, from adrenaline packed slides to the more relaxing ‘lagoon pool’ and ‘lazy river’. The ‘Water Village’ also has a jungle themed play area for younger children with water fountains and smaller slides. For even more excitement, watersports are plentiful in the surrounding beaches.

Places of interest

Zante is famous for the picturesque Shipwreck Bay which has fantastic photo opportunities from the viewpoint overlooking the beach, an hour’s drive away. Or perhaps you would rather drive to Porto Vromi and take a boat into the bay itself to see the shipwreck up close. Bocchali, on the hill overlooking Zante Town, is a beautiful place to visit. Sit in one of the cafes with a cool drink or ice-cream whilst enjoying the view over the town and across to the Greek Mainland. Wander up to the ruins of the Venetian Castle, and in the evening watch, while drinking a cocktail, as the lights of the town start to twinkle below as the town comes to life.

Golf

Zante has no golf courses however in Argasi there are two mini golf courses – ‘World Tour Mini Golf’ and ‘Fantasy Mini Golf’ – both firm favourites with families and couples alike.
