Your journey begins early in the morning with a pick-up by car, minibus or bus(depending on your group size) from your accommodation, followed by a scenic ride around the beautiful island of Zakynthos, also known as “The Flower of the East” by the Venetians.
Your first stop is at one of the island’s oldest wineries, belonging to a family that has been making wine since the 16th century. The head of the family will guide you through the wine production process and offer you a taste of their finest local wines. Don’t forget to purchase some bottles as souvenirs!
Next, we head to the east coast of the island for breathtaking views. Here, youll have the chance to take photos of the famous white-blue haze over the island of Kefalonia and the unique fry pans" of Zakynthos.
Our next stop is the northern port of Zakynthos, Agios Nikolaos. From here, you’ll board a traditional Greek fishing boat, known as a kaiki, for a magical cruise to the stunning Blue Caves. These grottos are famous for their intense blue, emerald, and purple waters, as well as beautiful coral formations. If the weather permits, you can even take a swim in the crystal-clear natural pools.
A relaxing stop at a seaside tavern where you can enjoy traditional Greek coffee, refreshing cold tea, or juice, along with delicious local desserts.
After our coffee break, we head to one of the most iconic spots in Zakynthos—the Navagio Beach viewpoint, or Shipwreck Bay. Known for its dramatic white sand and the wreck of a ship stranded on the shore, Navagio is often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You’ll have time to take plenty of photos of this picturesque spot.
Next, we visit the charming village of Anaphonitria, where the locals are famous for their homemade foods and handcrafted products. Here, you’ll get to taste Zakynthos honey, try traditional sweets like mandolato, mandoles, and pasteli, and sample the islands unique cheese, ladotiri. You can also savor traditional mountain tea and spices.
After the village visit, we stop at a lovely tavern for a delicious Greek lunch, featuring sun-ripened vegetables, local bread, fragrant dishes, fresh fruit, and of course, wine. A true taste of Zakynthos!
We’ll then head to the village of Maries, where you’ll find the Temple of Maria Magdalena. Here, you can see miraculous silver icons and even the footprint of Saint Mary Magdalene.
Finally, we make our way to a traditional olive oil factory near an ancient olive tree believed to grant wishes. The factory has been producing cold-pressed olive oil since the 16th century, combining old-world techniques with modern equipment. You’ll learn about the olive oil production process and have the chance to taste and purchase high-quality olive oil.
